I flew with A Company, 2nd Platoon, (Pelicans), 123rd Avn BN during my time in Vietnam, I flew several flare missions with
the Warlords and enjoyed my association with you guys. You have a great website and I have enjoyed looking at the photos collected
by your group. Two of your unit members, Bob Redmond and Wes Moore, and I attended flight school together. Great job!! |

Howdy, i'm a brand new WO1 going thru flight school right now. I'm glad to know that these pictures which have inspired me
and lots of other new aviators are finally being taken out of those old boxes and photo albums to be shared. My IP (instructor
pilot) told me that this year he and the other's have had an unusually high percentages of students who's fathers were army
aviators during the vietnam era. So keep on inspiring the future of the Army Air Corps. |

FYI For those that don't have medical or poor medical insurance. If you were incountry, when Agent Orange was used, you may
qualify for treatment through the VA. You may qualify for disability that you don't know about. It's a good deal. You may
or maynot have to pay a copay for your treatment and medication. Copays for medication are $8/month and is mailed to you.
You have nothing to loose to check it out. Good luck.. I hope this helps some of you. I go to the VA and dropped my private
retirement coverage, becaused it had cost tomuch to pay the premiums. |

After reading that Buck Thompson died earlier this year, I started thinking again about the AeroScout Company. We both came
from DivArty to fly "skeeters" with Barry Loyd when the Company was first being organized. I can't believe how long ago that
was. While doing some internet surfing, I was surprised to find this Warlord site. It's told me a lot about the Warlords
after I left. Although I do remember some of the names I've seen on it. The pictures have been great too. They brought
back a lot of memories. Keep up the good work. By the way, I only flew the OH-23 while with the Warlords. I was qualified
in the OH-6A but they were just beginning to get them when I left in August 1968. |

Men of honor
Warlords by trade
All had respect for what God had made
Men create wars
And so they must pay
God please forgive us
For what we brought forth
on those days
Baptized by fire, loyal and true
Dear God what happened
To the young men I knew?

Crewchiefed C&C UH-1D 867 in duc pho (Primo Aviation Head & Head Co 11th Lt Inf Brgd) then transfered to E comp with Jim Carr
and others. we were in the first graduating class of Cobra mechanics out of Ft eustis,VA. Came to E Co shortly after you guys
got your new gunships. Carr became Sgt and I joined Tech inspectors office. worked with a short(not tall) TI named Byrd. Remember
the white-haired guy in Supply. My cousin was CWO Rick "Mr" Morton. I have pictures (slides) of wrecks and some maintenance
action. I think one of you guys wrecked my beloved 867 and I believe Huey076 was delivered new to HHC 11th LIB in Duc Pho
before it came north with us transferees. I quickly read all the previous postings and am throwing out snippets as they come
to me. Recognized Hesse in the year book and a few of the others. Was good friends with the guy who was the unofficial Bn
photographer, went to Japan on R&R with him. I'll have to check my "facts" and refresh the names and faces. More later |

I have been in touch with Wes Moore thru e-mail, but was unaware of your excellent web site. Now that I have high speed internet,
and have retired again, I have time to catch up with the past. I served as the Operations Officer when we initially scrounged
the OH-23s from the Arty folks to go along with our UH-1B gunships and put together the short training program for aero scout
operations. After running operations at TF Barker, and the unit on its way I traded with Bill Staffa to come to B Co and I
went to A Co around May68. I was a platoon leader for a short time and then took over as the XO under Maj Ed Harris. Have
met up with a few of the old warriors over the years as I stayed in army aviation for over 25 years. Any friends or acquaintances
wanting to email me can do so at the above address. Best regards and a happy holiday season. |

Hi again everyone! I just found a photo exactly like the one located on this site, without any names associated with it.
It's located in the photo album...on the Infantry Platoon # 2 page. Some time ago, I have listed names of these very men,
that served with my father. If anyone recognizes anyone in this photo please let me know! My father is the fourth one from
the left to the right...standing on the steps. I also have other photos of my father's buddies, with their signa-tures.
Plus several other photos and documents. For most, of the names, of these men I've mentioned before, just check my previous
entries. If anyone recognizes anyone, I would be extra greatful. By the way Tom, where did you come across this photo?
Hope to hear from you guys!
Sincerely,
Missey |

Just browsed in. I was a member of the 123d Avn Bn (Avionics) from Jan 68 to Jan 69. In viewing your aircraft history I
noticed that OH-6A (67-16176) was listed as unknown for its disposition. I have a picture of this aircraft after it crashed
and will email it to anyone interested. Great site and many memories of working on the OH 23's and 6's. I installed the
first UHF radio in a 23 and the next flight it crashed into the water close to shore just North of Ky Ha. I think the pilot
swam to shore and was OK. I have always wondered why it came down. Also wanted to welcome home all. Best Wishes to your
organization and members. |

I am new to this great site, second visit. Needed to say, I've searched for a long time online(a needle in a haystack),for
info on the 123rd Aviation Batt. Co. B, then found this site. If only I had it before my father's death. He went on and
on about his buddies. Lovingly, I searched with much anticipation with no avail. And now I have! Love you,DAD! So, now
I'm wanting to find more info of my father's buddies...Orin Wiggins, John C. Mills, Soupe Delsantos, James Fugate, Brian R.
Baer, and R. Daughtery.
I have a lot of photos to provide, as well as Nam newsletters, R&R papers with names and contact addresses, and letters to
home from my father, some with pertainent info. I also have large photos of several buddies and him with all their names
signed to the back. Once I can get them all scanned, I will submit them. I would love to hear from anyone that knew my father,
the Professor. Anxtiously waiting...Missey |

I am looking for information regarding my father as well as close buddies he had while in Vietnam in through 1969.
I recently lost my father to a tragic accident when a semi collided with his semi, killing both my stepmother as well as my
beloved father. Some of my father's buddies were: Orin Wiggins-machine gunner from Newport News, VA,
James M. Fugate Blooperman R#3 from Albion, Michigan 49224, Brian R. Baer, from Carpentersville, Ill., Daughtry, Ricky, I
think? from Austin, Texas, and Soupe Delsantos from Saginaw, Michigan.
My father was from Wichita Falls,Texas.
His alis was Professor. I had several photos, but I am concerned about sending them out. Surely, understandable.
If anyone has any information please contact me. I will be eagerly waiting.

Thanks to David Witkowski and his recount of Mi Lai. We were still getting fire from there in '70,even that it appeared that
nothing was there. I was the driver for Col. Henderson, when he was on trial for Mi Lai massacure charges. He was in charge
ao our brigade when it all went down. He was only in charge 2 weeks then. He called an end to operations when he realized
what was happening,on the ground, with Lt. Callie and Capt. Medina's troops. There were records missing by the time Henderson's
chopper got on the ground, proven in court. Col. henderson was found not responsable for what happened, but his promotion
to General ended as did his carrier in the Army. He became a victem of the action, that took place in Mi Lai, by the officers
under him. I drove for him during the whole trial and I met Medina and others that were witness at the trial. I was supposed
to have high security clearance to drive for him, I didn't, But he said it was OK with him, because I was in the Americal
Division when I was in Viet Nam. I was asked by his defence team where it was possible to land choppers, in Mi Lai, from the
maps that they used in the trial. It was cool, because it allowed me to see what happened at the trial and in Mi Lai. It was
special duty, so I had to answer only to Col. Henderson, that was sweet duty. My C.O. and company staff had to go throgh Henderson
to get to me . Col. Henderson was a real nice guy and I was glad to see him get off. Sorry if I took so long. |

Thank you, very nice site, but you need to add the early history of the company as it was changed from the 161 AHC to the
Warlords. Please add the loss of Lt Barry Loyd's (SP?) H23 west of Tam Ky (the mission where Dutton & Andreotta were killed)
and give some mention to Hugh Thompson (Skeeter), Danny Millian's & Lt Livingston (Scorpian) to stopping the My Lai Massacre.
Yes, it was a Skeeter from the Warlords that landed in the middle of that mess and stopped Lt. Calley & Catain Media from
finishing the slaughter. |

I joined 123rd with Richard Larrick (Lurch) on Mar 1. There were only eight of us (Infantry) at the time. Our first mission
was support for the Mei Lai fiasco. We were on a hill to protect the rear of the infantry. Our pilots saved a lot of civilians
that day. I searved with "JB" (John C Black), Bill Lupton, Tom Rowe, Mike Hardesty, Perez, Ed Towerly, and so many more that
first year. I remember our naming the unit and the voting on the best ideas for the patch. We did a LOT more than snatches
that first year. I was the tunnel rat ttat entire first 9 mo. (And without a radio)! Those were some days! |
