trying to make or where your your coming from but i am sure it will wear off eventually & RRFC will carry on with the"ethos"

i am sure nobody agrees with #4 and their bad language. |

hey, that's a small point and I'd hate to detract from the main fact that we have 3 supporters... |

An ethos is a culture or set of beliefs of a group or community. If something is prescribed such as the rules around ages
in a side thus defining it as a development side this represents rules, not an ethos. Better luck at the conundrum coming

I was there too on Saturday watching the game and was also there at Harpenden on Wednesday evening. The ethos of the development
team is to do what the title says, develop players. The team on Saturday was full of players aged 16/17 which in my eyes,
and I'm sure the clubs eyes, is what the team is for. I'm sure the boys themselves are as disappointed as anyone when they
lose, but it's a big step up from youth to adult football and I think most have shown the ability to make that step. 4-5-1
to 4-3-3 is a formation played by many. If "spectators" concern is the formation of the team and not their development., maybe
he should just stick to "match of the day" and his less than encouraging form of armchair punditry...

the Development team and long may it continue, and comments are always welcome

comments can not be negative as football
is a game of opinions but non offensive.
No team likes to lose but the ethos of
Development football is to"DEVELOP"
young players some of whom are having their first taste of senior football and
one or two who have already been introduced to the first team into
tomorrows first team players.Formations
also need to be tried to see which suits best to the team we are playing against,
even teams on "match of the day" change formation!."Another spectator"had it right in their comments so yes lets all go have

To the spectator I was also there and have to disagree with your comments back four worked midfield shape better and the sticker
is 16 ( just ) #giveyouthachance after all as you've correctly pointed out it's the development team. A narrow 2.1 defeat
to a strong Hertford side followed a really close 4.3 loss to Harpenden a game perhaps should have got at least a point. I
see a team and management improving 7 16 year olds who are learning an improving week on week, can't be a bad thing were as
unjustified criticism of players and coaches certainly is

popped back this weekend and was pleased to see the development side again in action. SADLY THAT DIDNT LAST LONG. More madness
as this weeks lottery formation seemed to be 4.5.1 or at times 4.3.3 or sometimes just .10. The striker that scored two weeks
ago now wasted out on a wing and a lad up top that looked as though he couldn't be far off 16! It seemed the coaching staff
were down from 3 to 2 but still with the big shouty one there! Abandon the things you see on match of the day and understand
football at this level... PLEASE |

Brimsdown 1-5 Risboro.
A long overdue win for Rangers who dominated from start to finish. Lammy and Cal notching both goals in the 1st half. Halftime
0-2. A double from Chris Davies and Lammy also getting his 2nd of the match rounded the scoring for the lads. Brimsdown scoring
a consolation which was frustrating as felt the defence deserved a clean sheet. Full time 1-5. Garbs, Chris, tubby, Justin
and Lammy all having particularly good games. MOM: again Callum was outstanding. |

Risboro 1-1 Harefield.
An actioned packed game which either team could have won. The 1st half was scrappy, harefield looking the better team for
the first 30 mins, Rangers ending the half stronger of the two sides. Gary having the best opportunity only for his effort
to be turned behind by the keeper. Halftime 0-0.
Risboro came out the quickest and scored within the first 5 minutes. The best move of the game was neatly finished by Kev.
The game should have been killed of when Kev and Cal both missed glorious chances to extend the lead. Harefield grew in confidence
and were rightly awarded a penalty, 20 mins from time. Harefield created a couple of really good chances and could have easily
gone home with 3 points but the game finished 1-1, a fair result.
We weren't again at our best but the work rate was a definite improvement. MOM: he gave the penalty away but apart from that
put in a flawless performance, Skipper Callum Mansell |

Back to the important stuff footy.....
Risboro 2-3 Baldock.
Baldock were a very good and well organised team. A Very even 1st half with Rangers creating the better chances. We fell behind
to an offside goal, a cross field ball found the offside striker who's 1st attempt was excellently saved by Paz, the ball
rebounded back to the same player who cleverly improvised to head home. Rangers equalised soon after when a magnificent corner
setpiece allowed Kev to head home. Lamar and Joel coming very close to giving Risboro the lead but good keeping kept the score
1-1 at halftime. Baldock came out quick and for the opening 20 minutes dominated. Another awful decision by the officials
not giving Lamar a free-kick for a reckless challenge gave possession to Baldock who punished Risboro by scoring straight
after. The cross being turned in by Ash for an own goal. What was even more shocking was when the Baldock keeper walked the
ball into his own goal but once again the officials failed to see this!!!! Baldocks third was a good strike, the attacker
chipping Paz from inside the area from a tight angle. Ashley, looking to redeem himself for the OG, fired in a shot only for
the defender to dive forward with both hands above his head and deflect the ball. The ref, standing 15 yards away, said "play
on"....... By this point it was laughable!! Risboro pulled another goal back when Kev scored his 2nd of the game from close
range. Baldock are the best we've played this season. The officials Had a perticulaly interesting game..... Awful. MOM: Kev
was excellent but finally Cal gets the nod. Solid! No nonsense! Leader! |

Apologies for the delay in my response, I couldn't help but notice that Jamie wasn't in the top 15 goalscorers in the league

shame I was injured on saturday because it would have been nice to repeat my perfromence in the trip down to Buckingham in
the league last year. For the record his dad recorded that game so if you wish to watch my 2 goals to Jamie's 1 I'm sure that
could be arranged.
Hope we remain in touch,

Here's some feedback Mr. Development manager. Jamie Carter scored both goals against you Saturday. Perhaps you should ask
him back and play him in his best position? As a striker! But of course, that would mean dropping the headless lummox that
plays there now; and you can't drop one of your mates eh? On second thoughts, he's better off at Buckingham! |

Holyport 1-3 Risboro.
Not one of our finest performances this season but we did what was required. Taking a 2-0 lead in the 1st five minutes, mr
Berks and Bucks, Chris Davies, scoring both. After this the game wasn't played at outer usual high standards. Rangers created
plenty of chances but couldn't convert. 0-2 half time. Another early goal in the 2nd half put the tie to bed. Shrimps raced
through and placed the ball in the top corner, great strike! Holyport pulled one back, Rangers over playing gifting the striker
a simple chance which was finished in style. Subs, Lamar, Ash and Shaun all playing well when introduced. Full time 1-3. MOM:
Chris. Two good goals. Callum (captain) once again having a fine game but chris definitely having the edge! Maybe next week

Popped in to watch my local team play turned out to be the development side lose 2.1. As someone who has coached at many levels
including a higher standard than this league I was horrified at the standard of coaching and the formation employed by Risborough,
apparently 3.1.4.2. this is a new one on me and one that I hope I never see again. No cover at full backs, right and left
side of midfield who never cam and helped, a player in front of the back three who was neither defensive or a playmaker and
should drop back and play as a centre back or let a more creative player play, two forwards up top who played so far apart
that if they bumped into each other out shopping I doubt they would recognise each other. On the plus side the younger players
showed that the club has a future, but they must be coached and played in a proper formation. 3 at the back does work but
you must play wing backs. Although I would suggest 4.4.2. may work better and make the team less open to a counter attack
that exposes 3 defenders with no help from the midfield.
I hope these comments may be viewed in a constructive way, but please ditch 3.1.4.2. |

Risboro 2-0 Broadfields.
It was a tough match with Broadfiekds playing some very attractive football. It was a very even game with Rangers creating
the better of the chances. Kev had a goal ruled out for offside and Lammy coming very close but it remained 0-0 at halftime.
2nd half again was very entertaining, Risboro opened the scoring when Steve Garbutts freekick was deflected in, leaving the
keeper no chance. Two minutes later Lammy extended our lead when an amazing, well rehearsed setpieces, found him unmarked
from making a great run and nodding home. Rangers created more chances and should have but the game beyond doubt but good
keeping and poor finish kept the scoreline down. Paz doing his bit with a point blank save midway though the half. MOM: close
call between two players, callum was excellent but Joel Read pips him to the post this week. Getting better each week. |

Codicote 1-5 Risboro.
Finally a scoreline worthy of our recent performances. Risborofound themselves 1 down after a long clearance found the defence
to square and the codicote striker buried in to the far corner. This was completely against the run of play. Rangers pulled
level when Jason Costello picked the ball up midway through the oppositions half, they backed off and allowed Jason a free
shot from 20 yards, possibly one of the hardest shots ever recorded, the keeper had the right idea and dived out of the way
to avoid having his hand broken. Risboro took the lead when Tav was released one on one and calmly placed a low shot in to
the opposite side of the goal. Half time 1-2. 2nd half continued to see Rangers dominated. 2nd half substitute Kev Mealor
scored a fantastic 3rd goal for Rangers, a superb solo effort rounded 3 players in the build up. Kev was then awarded a penalty
after a clumsy challenged left the referee with no option. Chris D. Stepped up and scored. Kev rounded the scoring with his
2nd of the day and Rangers 5th. It could have been more with the number of chances created! A good response to last weeks
result and another big test on Tuesday when we host Broadfields who stuffed us in the Vase. Everyone performed magnificently.
MOM: Kev Mealor, just goes to show how important substitutes can be. |

Harpenden 4-2 Risboro.
Very frustrating game and the score line not reflecting the match. Risboro creating the better chances from the off, Jason
Costello opened the scoring with a shot / cross out wide, runs across the keeper causing havoc and the ball rolled in to the
far corner. Rangers restricted Harpenden to long range efforts for most of the half. Halt time 1-0. Joel struck the bar soon
after he break and lamer, with the goal begging from the rebound, put it over. Harpenden equalised when the ref awarded a
penalty, the ball travelled 50 yards and with the ref still in the opposition pointed to the spot. Harpenden took he lead
when sloppy defending allowed the winger through one on one with Paz and a really good finish, dinking the ball over the keeper.
Rangers drew level shortly after, an amazingly well executed corner routine was struck home by Lamar. 3 in 3 for him! Rangers
pressed but a long throw from Harpenden left an unmarked player in the 6 yard box who headed the ball over Paz. 3-2. We Risboro
then had a penalty appeal themselves, Joel read flicking the ball up ready to shot was met with the arm of the centre back
but this was not given. Now chasing the game Rangers played a 3-2-5 formation but hitting us on the counter in injury time
was the sucker punch. It's was again a very entertaining game and could have very easily been a different result. MOM: Lamar,
some great touches and a great finish from the corner. |

I'll continue.......
Rangers making 7 changes from Saturday took a comfortable victory against local rivals Amersham. Amersham started brightly
but came unstuck when Tav thundered down the wing and crossed only for the ball to drop into the far corner. Shortly after
Tav once again found more space down the right hand side, with good build up play, a low cross this time caused mayhem and
an Amersham defend turned the ball into his own net. This time it was shrimps turn to provide from the right, crossing for
Lammy to score his 2nd goal for the club in as many games. Half time 3-0. The 2nd half was more subdued. Jason Costello completed
the rout to send Rangers through. Next up Leighton Town. MOM: Jason Costello, extremely strong on the ball, strong direct
running and caused the opposition a lot of discomfort. |

Risboro 2-1 Hatfield.
Definitely a game for the neutral with end to end action throughout. Risboro started brightly but failed to convert early
chances as did the opposition with Paz making some great saves. Lamar scored his 1st goal for the club on the half hour mark,
good interplay by Joel, Kev and Sam releasing Lamar one on one and a low shot past the keeper was enough. Half time 1-0. 2nd
half once again was end to end but never team could find the net. The referee decided to make things interesting in the 90th
minute and award Hatfield a penalty to the amazement of the entire ground. In the 92nd minute with Rangers down to 10 men
through injury, Tav took a long throw which looped into the 6 yard box and the goal keeper palming it in. This gave Risboro
a vital 3 points. Hatfield deserve a lot of credit who were fit and strong and deserved a point but that's football. MOM:
Paz great keeping. |

Risboro 2-0 Ampthill.
Rangers started bright and were on the front foot from the off. Ampthill were very organised and hard to break down, looking
to counter quickly when in possession. Risboro took the lead when new signing Jason Costello was allowed to control the ball
in the area, neatly turning, placing the ball in the far bottom corner. Half time 1-0. The 2nd half opened up a little more
as Ampthill new they had to score. Chris D hit the post midway through as Rangers kept probing for a 2nd. Once again Alex
Woodfine stepped of the bench and scored with his 1st touch after the keeper pulled off a great save. Shortly after Alex hit
the bar after lobbing the keeper. Full time 2-0. Great team spirit and an extremely impressive performance. MOM: Callum Mansell,
tonight he was on his metal! |

Arlesey 2-2 Risboro.
MI5 is spot on, it was a tough game yesterday and Arlesey were much better than their table form suggests. Rangers started
brightly and pegged the opposition back from the start, occasionally needing to defend the odd counter attack..... On the
flip side, the attacks by Arlesey always looked dangerous. New signing Kev Mealor proved a handful and hit the bar from 25
yards. It was Arlesey that took the lead late in the 1st to frustrate the away supporters, Rangers defence could deal With
an intricate passing move and the striker was left with a tap in. 1-0 half time. With the score set at 1-0, Ash was brought
down in the box and nothing was awarded, the ref called Ash over and Explained that there was a coming together but not enough
for a pen???? Shortly after Arlesey found themselves 2-0 up, Joel Read, ironically, giving away a penalty with a rash challenge.
With 10 minutes left Tav found space down the right hand side and was allowed to crossed for Shrimps to strike home, a real
strikers finish. 5 minutes later Rangers were level, a really good passing move allowed Luke to burst from midfield and neatly
finish in to the far bottom corner. A lucky escape which was well deserved. Not our best performance so we'll need to improve
for Amphill on Tuesday. MOM: new signing Jason Costello, played his heart out and was involved in many attacks as well as
defending strongly. Looks like a great addition. |

Decent draw away yesterday. Once again the first team travelled away with at least five players out and faced Arlesey Reserves
on a day when their first team had no fixture and had five first team players in their squad! Once again the lads showed
their never say die attitude, coming back from two nil down to maintain their unbeaten start to the season. Can't wait for
Ampthill at home on Tuesday night. Good time to be a Rangers fan😎 |

to draw after going two nil down. Must be catching.
Pity we can!t keep the front page of the web site up to date. Still advertising the Hillingdon game and still reporting the
win over Hadley Wood & Wingate. Please keep up, very poor show!!!! Unlike the team. |

Hillingdon 4-5 Risboro.
What a match! Rangers started bright creating a few half chances but soon fell 2-0 behind. A dodgy freekick some how found
its way into the back of the net and shortly after a penalty, rightly awarded, was smashed home. Sam W. pulled one back when
he controlled a long pass, rounded the keeper and tucked home. Hillingdon went 3-1 up just before halftime, a great finish
from the edge of the box, a real sucker punch. There was a real determination from Rangers on the 2nd half and were rewarded
with 2 goals early on, Sam W. Dispatching a penalty after Lamar was brought down and Joel R. Smashing in from a corner. Both
teams went for the win and playing great football. Chris D. ( playing a deep holding roll) found himself furthest forward,
on the right wing! Tucked home a one on one. 4-3 to Ris. Hillingdon then equalised In the 94th min when's long throw was not
dealt with and the strike was left unmarked giving Paz no chance. Cometh the hour cometh the man, new signing Alex Woodfine
timing a superb run through the middle, smashing in from 18 yards. It was a tough pill for Hillingdon who played their hearts
out........ But we'll take it! Great character and a team of leaders who will take nothing less than a victory, even when
staring defeat in the face. 14 MOM's for me but Sam Ward was outstanding, he took a nasty tackle in the 1st half which was
a big mistake, like the Incredible Hulk it made him very angry for the rest of the match! |

Good start by the Rangers. Three in three! Only thing missing against Hadley-Wood & Wingate was composure in front of goal.
Could have won by five or six and Hadley couldn't have complained. We played some great football at times and created loads
of good chances. What will we be like when all our players are back from holidays? Also rumours of a couple of good signings
in the offing!!!! |

Risboro 2-1 Hadley Wood.
It was a very frustrating game, the players showed great character and patients to earn victory. After missing 4 one on ones
in the opening 15 minutes and dominating possession, Hadley found themselves 1 up. A deflected free kick squirmed through
and fell into the path of the Hadley strike who slotted home. Countless number of chances miss by Rangers somehow gave Hadley
the lead at the break. 1-0. Hadley grew in the 2nd half and played some decent football as well did Risboro. It took a penalty,
tucked away nicely by Shrimps, to get the home side level and back on track. 10 minutes to go captain Chris D smashed the
ball home from 18 yards, nice play by Tom B assisting, to seal victory. A deserved win for Rangers which could have been by
a lot more. Chris had his best game of the season, Lamar was a threat all game, Sam Ward was Excellent but MOM was Paz, he
did have many saved to make but his handling, kicking, quick thinking and all the bread and butter stuff, which makes the
difference between a good keeper and an excellent keeper, was exemplary. |

Risboro 2-1 Bedford.
Rangers took the lead midway through the 1st half, Chris D, was pushed in the area and a penalty rightly awarded, new signing
Tom B. dispatched beyond the keepers reach. Half time 1-0. Bedford equalised 10 mins into
The 2nd when a long throw caused mayhem in the Rangers defence and a close range effort was tucked away. Rangers won the game
with 15 to go when Tom slotted an excellent pass through to Gary R. Who was tackled by the centre half only for the ball to
end up in the net, og! Risboro then looked dangerous and created more and more chances but nothing clear cut. 2-1 full time.
Everyone worked hard and I believe that was the reason behind the victory. MOM: Joel Read, fantastic game. |

Good result against a very strong Thame Rangers. Plenty of new faces on show with at least ten regulars missing. Good finishes
by Joel Read, back after nearly two years injury, and Rory Lonsdale. New keeper looked decent and Brown in midfield. Kevin
Mealor, on at half time looked different class. Good player, I hope he signs! Thame had lots of possession but looked clueless
in breaking down a well organised Risborough defence and poor at the back, but should have enough to win Div 2 next season.
Be interesting when all players are back! Final note: The young referee was excellent despite Thames' constant moaning and
whinging.

Risboro 2-1 Woodford Town.
Quite an exciting game. Both teams enjoying some good attacking play. Risboro taking the lead midway through the first half
through Dobbo. Vinny playing an exquisite pass to James Dobson who smashed the ball in from 20 yards. Griggsy finished the
season off in style with a signature 30 yard lob and also claimed top goal scorer for the league. Everyone looking very good
and playing very well. MOM: Griggsy, superb celebratin.
Rangers finishing the season in 7th position, not a disgrace but looking back at th season there were games we should have
won but drew or lost, games we should have lost but drew or won and games we should have drawn but won or list! So based on
my workings we should have come top. Congratulations to Danny (Messi) Gray, a fantastic career and we were lucky enough to
be part of it..... Bobby Rayner, also retiring, the lads signing off with a win. It won't be the same sat in the dugout without
him. My right ear drum burst a few years back with constant scream at the players and the same question being asked of me
time and time again, at least 38 times a match. "Youngy... WHY did he do that". "WHY! what was he thinking". Players he was
speaking of, Tubby, Hirdy, Sam A, Clarkey, Bez, Tubby, Andy Austin, Greeny, Lewis Dean, Tubby, Callum, Griggsy, Shrimps, Tubby,
Ross, Jack and occasionally Tubby. |

Harpenden 1-1 Risboro.
A hard fought draw, Risboro looking for revenge after the last meeting a couple of weeks ago which Harpenden narrowly won.
Rangers took the lead from the spot, Griggsy converting after a harshly award penalty for a close range hand ball. Half time
0-1. During the 2nd half Risboro dripped deeper and deeper, inviting pressure. Harpenden were once again restricted to long
range shots which never troubled the keeper. Jack having a fine game in goal, thwarting all crosses that entered the box.
Rangers conceded with 5 minutes to go. Another penalty should have been awarded, this time a foul on vinny by the Harpenden
keeper, surprisingly not given. The Rangers supporters in full voice was great to see. Especially giving their number 10 a
lot of grief. MOM: Callum, definitely on his metal and still looked thoroughly angered over his sending off in the previous
encounter. |
