Comments: All good wishes for your engagement before HM The Queen and HRH The Duke of Edinburgh. Good to know that you are all still in good voice after over 100 years! Whilst doing some genealogical research, I have discovered I am 1st cousin, three times removed of your founder, The Rev Benjamin Edwin Dadley - a tenuous link, but I'd like to think that at least one gene came down to me as I sing with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra Chorus. A most interesting site, and I enjoy dipping into it from time to time. David Gee

Comments: Thanks for a very enjoyable evening to celebrate the Choir's 30th. Anniversary. I know a lot of work will have gone into organising the event, but it was well worthwhile. It was good to see you all; my apologies to those with whom I didn't manage to have a word. It was very interesting to hear the choir from the perspective of the audience, but I have to admit to being more than a little wistful that I was not amongst you on the platform! Best wishes to all.

Comments: Hello all, and greetings from the south of the County! The K-Shoes MVC were performing in Grange-over-Sands tonight, so we went along to hear how well they compared with the high standard of Whitehaven. I have to say, they were pretty good. It was no surprise that five of the pieces were ones that Whitehaven MVC also sing, but only two ("Calm is the Sea"; "Morte Criste") were the same arrangement. "Hand me down my Silver Trumpet" and "You raise me up" were very different, and "Holy, Holy, Holy" was sung in German! Looking forward to seeing you all again at the Anniversary Celebration on Saturday.

I think it is also worthwhile mentioning the contribution you and your family have made to the choir over the years. Almost since its formation the name Wishart has been synonymous with Whitehaven Male voice Choir, lets hope your enthusiasm and effort is passed on to future generations.
